Physical Activity

 This week my physical activity I participated in was that I did Athletics day.

On Tuesday we had athletics day. There was a sausage sizzle, ice blocks, and lots of opportunities to get points for your house.

My house is Red, the other houses are Gold, Green and Blue. We had to listen to Mr Hooper anoccing the events over the speakers. I did the 100m sprints, 200m sprints, shot put, high jump and cricket ball throw.

I didn't win anything but I didn't come last either, it was really fun. We had to wear our house colours I wore a red tutu, red face paint, red sunglasses and a cap hat.

In the end Gold house won with a whopping 400 and something points, red house lost like we do every year, we have a losing streak.

PREP Reflection 27th November

 Friday 27th November

Today was the last day of making our product next week is the market day!

I think we did a really good job today, we made signs, price tags, posters and finished off our wreaths.

I am really looking forward to the market day and I think the rest of my group is too.

I think we are all organised and ready and we are really excited to see how well our wreaths sell.

PREP Reflection

Friday 20th November

Today we had to as well as make our wreaths we had to make campion currency for the market day.  People will pay money and they will get that much campion currency dollars to buy things with.      

We had to design our own and then we are going to vote which one we will use. I brought in some more dried flowers and I think we did a really good job, just 1 more Friday to go

Prep reflection

Friday 13th November 2020

Today we have been working on wreaths and we are all very proud of what we have done. With these wreaths we have been adding the flowers and we also need to add some more willow on a couple of the wreaths to make them more fat. We have managed to  finish about six. Next week we will bring more dry flowers and some willow. Hopefully by next week we have our product ready for the market day. Here is a photo of what we have achieved

PREP Reflection

 Friday 6th November

Today I brought in a whole bunch of willow and some vines as well and we started making the real things.

They are looking really cool and we remade our logo which I think is really good.

We painted some pinecones and acorns gold and left them to dry I really enjoyed making them and I think our group works well together

I am really looking forward to next week! 👍😁

PREP Reflection

                                                     Friday 30th October

So today we decided to change our idea because the pillow thing wasn't really working so one of the teacher aids Kathy told us that she makes like wreaths out of twigs and flowers so that's what we're doing now. We are using willow branches and weaving it around each other without string or anything to tie it so it's just naturally held together. I reckon this idea is way better than the pillow one and it's way quicker to make. We have to strip the leaves off the branches to make it and then it will dry out and hopefully look really cool

Prep Reflection

                     PREP Friday 23rd October

Today me and Hazel made a practice one it didn't look to good but it should look better when we get more experienced on doing it. We got some old t-shirts  and started making it but it took awhile to figure out how to do some of the steps. We had to redo some of the steps but for our first one it actually worked pretty well.

PREP Friday 18th September

Today we had our first PREP day in my group is Me, Bella and Hazel we are going to make Hula Hoop

T shirt Pillows.

The thing that went well I think was the logo we designed and our team work was really good too.

The difficult thing was the paper challenge when we had to make something out of paper.

The things I learnt about business was how to present your idea good.

2019 Home Camp

On week 7 we had a full week of activities for our Home Camp.
I had a great week swimming, visiting my Intermediate for next year, camping, going to the Museum of Transport and Technology and going to Grays Bush.
I had a great week!

Learning Buddy

We got given a Year 3 Buddy to teach how to work a Chromebook.
My buddy was Tom I had to teach him how to access things and work his Drive.
Me and Tom want to go to Africa to see all the wildlife there and see all the big cats.
Tom says using a Chromebook is fun!

STEM Challenge.

On Wednesday we did a STEM Challenge.
We had to make a paper chair in a group of 6 or 7.
It was hard to keep it standing.
It was easy to roll up the paper and tape it.

Ancient Civilization.

This week we discovered about ancient civilizations.
My civilization was the Vikings.
I picked the Vikings because they were hard working and brave people.

Rugby

On Friday we played Rugby at Sonrise School, it was a tough game, in the end we lost 25 to 75.
I enjoyed tackling people and running after the ball.
It was hard to get the tries.

My Extinct Animal.

We have been learning about extinct animals.

We had to pick an extinct animal and make a slide about it. I picked a Barbary Lion it is the biggest Lion in the world.

I liked looking at all the extinct animals.

I found it hard to find a picture of it.

Haast's Eagle

This term we are learning about the past.
Our main focus was on the Haast's Eagle.
We had to work with someone we had never worked with before, I worked with Inigo.
My favorite part was learning and reading the facts about it.
The hard part was finding facts about it because it died 600 years ago.
I enjoyed Working with my buddy.

Free Fun Spot In Gisborne.

For our work we had to make a presentation about a free fun spot in Gisborne.
I found it easy to write about my place.
I found it hard to think of a free fun spot.

Earthquakes.

We had to make a presentation about Earthquakes for our reading work.
I found it easy to find a background.
I found it hard to find the information.
The interesting part was looking at all the recent earthquakes.

What I Do To Be a Powerful Learner.

This week we made a slide about how we are Powerful Learners.
I found it easy to think of things I am good at doing.
I found it hard to put the hexagons in a circle.
It was fun picking the backgrounds.

ANZAC Facts.

This week we were learning about ANZAC day. We had to make a slide with ten ANZAC day facts on them.

I found it easy to write out the facts.

I found it hard to put the music on.

The interesting bit was reading all the facts.

STEM Challenge 1, Term 2

This is our first STEM challenge for term 2 we made a periscope.
We maade periscopes because, we had a virtual tour of Te Papa, we learned about the war at gallipoli exhibition. We saw that they used periscopes to see over walls without being shot in the head, so we thought it would be fun if we made one.
I found it easy to fold the cardboard into a rectangle.
I found hard to glue on the mirrors.
I found it interesting how well they worked when we tested them.
